A jubilant Greater Western Sydney Giants Chairman in Tony Shepherd has described his side’s seven goal victory on Sunday afternoon over crosstown rivals the Sydney Swans as “great for footy in New South Wales. The club was celebrating it’s 100th game in the Australian Football league and what an occasion it was. A record crowd, a big win over class opposition and a fan going home with a freakish kick for cash and a prize of $100,000.
Tony Shepherd spoke with Jodie Newell in a buzzing GWS Giants rooms post-game and shed some light on the ramifications of the victory and what the journey had been like thus far in game 100 for the club.
