Steve Kilbey is an unheralded Australian treasure. His music & literary output has captured a unique Australian essence.

Since 1980, the music public has known of Steve & his band The Church. Sometimes they are loved and sometimes they are forgotten, but like old friends they are always fondly embraced. Their latest release Untitled #23 was critically acclaimed as was the subsequent tour of the USA & Australia.

Kilbey himself is a changed man after years of living the traditional rock lifestyle. He now swims at the famous Bondi Icebergs swimming club, practices yoga and is a father with the associated responsibilities.

Jodie Newell caught up with Steve in his home town of Bondi to discuss life and the ways of The Church.
